From our very first adventure, our riders have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of the kids we came across. We’ve donated sporting equipment to local children in desolate areas where the only toys are a stick and a coat hanger.

It has now become a tradition to hand out cricket bats, tennis balls, clothing and educational equipment to schools and monasteries on every trip and in every country, we go to.

After each trip, we update the blog with the activities and photos of each “giving back” activity

If you have ideas on how you would like to help, please get in contact with us.

Items that are suitable to bring (or purchase once you have arrived) are…

  • School supplies such as exercise books, pencils, backpacks, calculators
  • Toys such as Lego, Frisbees, Volleyballs, Soccer balls and pumps
  • Educational equipment such as reading and picture books, colouring in books and pencils etc
  • Clothes such as beanies, gloves, mittens, scarfs, running shoes, bras
  • Electronics such as headphones, working and formatted mobile phones, tablets and laptops.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Rex was instrumental in the creation of the very first Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride so it is a cause very close to his heart.

We have been the #1 fundraising ride, team and have had the #1 individual fundraiser in India where we go to the highest road in the world on the day of DGR since the inception of event.

Healthy Happy Children's Foundation

In 2019, Himalayan Heros affiliated with the Healthy Happy Children’s Foundation in Kathmandu, Nepal.  We support them financially by passing all commissions received from any travel insurance purchased through our site as well as encouraging our riders to support them.

HHCF believes in a grassroots movements and no overhead costs. 100% of collected donations are used directly to provide food, shelter, medical and educational assistance to impoverished children in the developing world.

This affiliation was encouraged by Patrick who joined us on our Stairway to Heaven adventure in 2017.

Heroes Building Gers in Mongolia

In 2019, we set a goal to fund the construction of 5 gers (traditional houses) in Mongolia for needy families. We have funded 2 so far and are on our way to meeting our goal of 5 by 2022.

This affiliation was organised by Tito who joined us for his first adventure with us in Nepal in 2017.

SunnyKids Charity Ride

In June 2018, Himalayan Heroes sponsored the inaugural SunnyKids Charity Ride held in Noosa, QLD. We donated a Himalayan adventure to the charity auction and the proceeds from the day was in excess of $14,000. These are funds that will go towards helping Australian children and families in need.

Himalayan Heroes continues to be the headline sponsor of the SunnyKids charity ride and are honoured that MotoGP star, Chris Vermeulen supports our SunnyKids/Himalayan Heroes charity ride.

This affiliation was encouraged by Ferre who joined us on our Stairway to Heaven adventure in 2017.

The Footpath Library

In 2017 we affiliated up with The Footpath Library in Australia to help distribute books to the children at Lamayuru Monastery school.

If you’d like to donate the cost of a book ($8) then you can do so easily by clicking here.

This affiliation was encouraged by Shane and Max who joined us on our DGR adventure in 2017.

Movember Foundation Support

Himalayan Heroes also supports the Movember Foundation, indirectly with our involvement with the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and directly through their website. If you’d like to sponsor the Himalayan Heroes team then please click here
