Adventure Designer - Rex Havoc

Rex started Himalayan Heroes as a side gig and it snowballed into a way of life. Riders from all over the world follow Rex as he gets them lost in the mountains looking for the highest roads in the world. In search of new places to explore, he now has Pakistan, Tibet, Sikkim & Bhutan on his to do list. His favourite adventure?   …the next one 😉

In 2021, Rex will be exploring Africa with his new venture – Ride Africa. Check it out and subscribe to get the latest info.

Rex rides a W650 Cafe Racer and has a Royal Enfield 500 Classic that he says he’ll customise into a Scrambler one day. He also wears a Yeti suit from start to finish on most adventures. It makes the kids smile and it’s a bit of a laugh…or maybe it’s just a fetish thing?

Adventure Guide India - "Gumnut"

“Gumnut” as we call him was born and raised in the middle of the Himalayas. He lives and breathes motorcycles so if he’s not leading a Himalayan Heroes group, he’ll be on his beloved motorcycle, exploring new routes for us to test out. It’s why Himalayan Heroes is always first to be able to offer new routes when newly built roads become available. No one is as close to the action or as connected as Gumnut is which means we can often get into areas that others can’t.

He sees an itinerary as rough guide and won’t hesitate to have a “change of plan” if he thinks he can make your experience better.

“Gumnut was outstanding! Very kind, caring, professional and had excellent skills (mechanical, riding, driving). He was wonderfully discreet about safety.  Absolutely no complaints there and feel blessed he watched over us at all times.” – Wendy Train 2019

Adventure Guide Nepal - Sujan

Sujan is a rock star on and off the bike. Born in Kathmandu, he’ll take you to the all the bucket list places and a few that aren’t in the tourist brochures. He’s been leading adventures for many years and knows Nepal and the Mustang Valley like the back of his hand. If he’s leading a group who are great riders and want to explore more challenging areas, he knows exactly where to take them for some fun on the bikes.

Ruffle his hair at your own risk.

Adventure Guide Mongolia - "Iji"

Mongolian names aren’t the easiest to pronounce so we call him Iji for short. Iji is a motorsport fanatic and will often participate in rallies when he’s not leading our riders through the Gobi Desert or across the Mongolian Steppes. He usually keeps the bike upright but has been known to wear the “I Do My Own Stunts T-Shirt” on occasion.

He assures us he is a direct descendent of Genghis Khan…but he was a bit of horn bag so you’re probably related to Genghis.

Special Guest - Kate Peck

When Kate needed an adventure, she knew who to call. Arriving in Delhi in July 2019 as the only female rider in the group, she quickly showed the boys a clean set of heels and was the only rider to not come off their bike. Kate organised the Mongolian Maniacs 2020 adventure which was postponed until 2021 due to “Rona”. Join Kate on one of her annual adventures with Himalayan Heroes or Ride Africa

Kate is a presenter with RPM on channel 10, an advocate for women riders and has done a few sommelier courses.

Filmmaker / Photographer - Sean Finney

You’ll either find Finney behind the lens or on the ground next to his bike. Always cracking jokes, he’s a blast to have on a trip. Super handy with his Leica and GoPro, he’ll create a video of your adventure that you’ll time and again.

Finney has Tourette’s “but not the good kind where I get to randomly shout swear words”

UK Ambassador - Ben Saggers

Ben came with us on our second adventure and was at the back of the pack (or lying on the ground) as he’d only just got his license. He moved from Australia to the UK and started the London Cafe & Custom group (and an outbreak of a few contagious diseases). When he organised the the inaugural Distinguished Gentleman’s Route to the highest road in the world that went off without a hitch, we invited him to be part of the team. He now looks after the Himalayan Heroes UK Instagram Page.

See him at the London Motorcycle Show representing Himalayan Heroes, coming last in a race at Dirt Quake on his chopper and hanging around some of London’s most popular public toilets.

Canadian Ambassador- Patrick Colleran

Patrick booked to come with us on our infamous Distinguished Gentleman’s Route adventure in 2017 but when the time came, his new business had taken off and he couldn’t afford the time off so he sent us an email to apologise. We suggested we could just transfer his deposit to an adventure later in the year. Patrick was blown away with the service and even more so with the adventure in Nepal so he wanted to spread the word amongst his fellow Canucks.

Patrick supports a children’s foundation with 27 kids in Kathmandu, runs Packhound Motorcycles and is often buried under the snow.
